GILLINGHAM LIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL 21st– 22nd June 2024
Due to a vast increase in infrastructure costs for this year, the committee have decided that the risk of running the event on the Town meadow is to great to continue, especially if it turns out to be a wet year again.
This has been a very difficult decision to make and the initial decision was to postpone the event to 2025 whilst using this year to raise money for the next years event.
However, the aims of the committee is to bring Live Music to the town whilst raising money for local charities, and we still wanted to do that for this year.
So we have decided to change the venue to Riversmeet where we can cut out some of the infrastructure costs and have a venue that is not weather dependent. We will have a large stage and most importantly it allows us to continue with the event this year.
We are really hoping and asking everyone to support us with the changes we have made to the event this year, so we can build it for the future to be a regular event to be proud of whilst promoting Live music and supporting local charities.
The event will kick off on Friday 21st June at 7pm with the best 2 local SKA bands BIG BRASS SKA and D’SKA ASSASSINS for a night of music from the likes of Madness, The Specials, Bad Manners and all your favourite SKA songs guaranteed to get you up on the dance floor.
Saturday will kick off at 2pm with a fantastic selection of music artists and bands through out the day and in to the evening.
There will be a bar and food stalls throughout the event.
The bands and music acts for Saturday will be announced soon.
